Your personal details are never sold, rented, or shared with third-party advertisers or external data brokers.
1. Data Controller & Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through johnifeanyi.com, operated under the personal brand and executive office of Amb. John Ifeanyi Amos (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to safeguarding the privacy and personal data of our website visitors, commercial partners, prospective clients, and mailing list subscribers in full alignment with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and international best practices.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following contexts:
- Newsletter Subscription: When you join our mailing list, we collect your email address and optional first name. We also record the signup timestamp, consent source (e.g., website popup, dedicated subscribe page), and IP address for verification purposes.
- Contact & Executive Inquiries: When submitting formal inquiries via our contact portal, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), inquiry nature, subject, and proposal message.
- Technical & Usage Logs: Server request timestamps, browser headers, and anonymized IP data collected strictly to defend against automated spam, brute-force attacks, and abuse.
3. Double Opt-In Verification & Lawful Basis
Our newsletter system operates on a mandatory Double Opt-In standard. When you submit your email, your record is placed in a “Pending Confirmation” status. We dispatch an automated verification email containing an expiring cryptographic token (valid for 48 hours). You are only added to our active mailing list after you click to confirm. Unconfirmed requests expire and are permanently purged.
The lawful basis for processing newsletter communications is your explicit, affirmative consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR / NDPA). The lawful basis for processing formal contact inquiries is our legitimate commercial interest in responding to your proposals (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Data Retention, Suppression & Deletion Rights
You retain full control over your personal data at all times:
- Immediate Unsubscribe: Every email newsletter contains a 1-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.
- Suppression Lists: When you unsubscribe, your address is retained on an encrypted suppression list solely to ensure that automated imports or batch updates never re-add your address without fresh consent.
- Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You may request complete permanent deletion of your data from our database by emailing [email protected].
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We do not share your information with marketers or advertisers. Transactional and broadcast emails are transmitted securely over SSL/TLS using Alibaba Cloud DirectMail (Singapore enterprise region), subject to strict data processing agreements and SPF/DKIM/DMARC domain security protocols.
